《普通高等教育十一五國家級規(guī)劃教材:新視野大學(xué)英語讀寫教程1(第2版)》在第一版基礎(chǔ)上，全面貫徹《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》（簡稱《課程要求》）的精神，結(jié)合使用院校的反饋意見，在整體結(jié)構(gòu)、選材和練習(xí)等方面均有不同程度的完善和提高。《普通高等教育十一五國家級規(guī)劃教材:新視野大學(xué)英語讀寫教程1(第2版)》10個單元，供一個學(xué)期使用。每單元以一段100詞左右的Preview開始，言簡意賅地點出本單元主題。Preview既可以用于預(yù)習(xí)，也可以在寫本單元summary時作參考。在Preview之后，單元內(nèi)容分為兩個部分：SectionA和SectionB。每部分各包含一篇課文和相關(guān)的練習(xí)。
