    本書分為三個部分：第一部分為物流基礎知識，分為10個單元，以基本的物流活動為主線，涵蓋了物流系統中各環節的專業英語知識，具體包括物流概述、運輸、倉儲管理、庫存控制、包裝、配送、信息技術、采購、第三方物流和逆向物流及供應鏈管理的基本知識；第二部分為相關的商務信函，具體包括商務信函的基本結構、商務信函的電子形式和相關物流商務信函實例；第三部分是常用的國際物流單證范例。物流基礎知識部分的每個單元都包含呼應本單元主題的專業術語以及聽、說、讀、寫、譯等學習和訓練內容。

　　隨著全球經濟一體化和我國經濟的改革開放，國內和國際物流在社會經濟生活中扮演著越來越重要的角色。現代物流行業對人才的需求是不僅要具備物流方面的專業知識，還要具備一定的外語應用能力。
　　本書作為高等職業院校物流專業英語教材，分為三個部分：第一部分為物流基礎知識，分為10個單元，以基本的物流活動為主線，涵蓋了物流系統中各環節的專業英語知識；第二部分為相關的商務信函，包括商務信函的基本結構、電子形式和相關物流商務信函實例；第三部分是常用的國際物流單證范例。
　　本書注重與學生的互動性和內容的實用性，改變了大多數高職物流英語教材內容形式單一的情況：從聽、說、讀、寫多個方面展開教材的各章內容；所選取的內容是物流行業中最常見、通用和核心的業務內容；各章有專業詞匯，與高職學生助理物流師培訓考試中的英語部分對接；各章案例和課后閱讀理解真實地再現了物流運營的實戰情況。
　　通過學習本書，學生能夠了解并掌握物流方面基本的專業術語，能夠閱讀和翻譯物流方面的英文文章，用英文進行簡單的物流會話并撰寫簡單的物流英語短文和信函，從而為從事涉外物流相關工作打下基礎。
