《新編實用英語綜合教程(2)》4色印刷,版式精美,并配有錄音帶。《新編實用英語》系列教材是由教育部高職高專教育英語課程教學指導委員會根據《高職高專教育英語課程教學基本要求(試行)》組織編寫的。本套教材認真貫徹了“學一點、會一點、用一點”、“聽、說、讀、寫、譯并重”和“邊學邊用、學用結合”的原則。注重聽說技能訓練,注重對實用文體閱讀能力的培養,在培養應用語言基本功的能力的同時注意培養實際涉外交際能力。本套教材還注重“教、學、考”相互照應。學完第2冊可參加“高等學校英語應用能力考試”的B級考試,學完第4冊可參加A級考試。《新編實用英語綜合教程(2)》為《綜合教程》第二冊,共10個單元,每個單元都由“說”、“聽”、“讀”和“寫”4部分組成,另有一個“趣味閱讀”部分。
根據《普通高等專科英語課程教學基本要求》編寫的(《實用英語》(1995年出版)為高等專科英語教學改革起到了導向與規范作用,取得了開拓性的成果。本教材既重視語言基本技能的訓練,又在很大程度上體現了培養實際應用英語能力的目的。1999年,根據國家對高等專科教育、高等職業教育和成人高等教育實行“三教統籌”的精神,編寫組對《實用英語》進行了局部的修訂,使之更加符合“三教”的要求。加入\WTO之后,中國與世界經濟進一步接軌,國家對高職高專的英語教學提出了更加重視實用能力培養的要求,因此,高職高專教育英語課程教學指導委員會(以下簡稱“課委會”)決定重編《實用英語》,以適應新形勢對高職高專英語教學改革的緊迫需要。
《新編實用英語》(New Practical English)是由課委會組織全國各地有豐富教學經驗的教師編寫的。本教材既堅持了(《高職高專教育英語課程教學基本要求(試行)》(以下簡稱《基本要求》)的正確方向,保持和突出了《實用英語》的優點,又反映了全面更新教學內容的實際。所謂全面更新是指在堅持((基本要求》為高職高專培養實用性人才和堅持“以應用為目的,實用為主,夠用為度”的大方向的前提下,進一步更新觀念、更新內容、更新體系、更新要求。這主要體現在如下幾個方面:
1.嚴格按照《基本要求》編寫。《基本要求》中的(《交際范圍表》所規定的交際主題是我們選材的依據和出發點,而且讀、譯、聽、說、寫各項技能的培養與訓練都圍繞同一交際話題展開。
2.進一步克服忽視聽說技能訓練的弱點,加大聽說技能、特別是實用交際能力的訓練,把培養一定的實用口語交際能力作為本教程的重要任務。
3.加強對應用文等實用文體閱讀能力的培養,滿足在一線工作的業務人員實際的涉外交際需要。
4.將英語應用能力的訓練具體體現于實用英語能力的培養之中。應用能力既指應用語言基本功的能力,更指把這些基本功運用到實際涉外交際中的能力。后者也可稱作“實用能力”。“應用能力”是“實用能力”的基礎,“實用能力”則是“應用能力”的具體體現。
5.認真貫徹“學一點、會一點、用一點”,“聽、說、讀、寫、譯并重”和“邊學邊用、學用結合”的原則。
