《中西文化比較：英文版》通過選擇*具代表性的篇章對比中西方文化，配以生動有趣、通俗易懂的練習，從多個視角比較中西文化差異，深入淺出地剖析中西文化產(chǎn)生沖突的原因 ,探討中國文化的傳承，探索中西文化的融合。本教材共 14 個單元，每單元由 8 個部分組成：課文背景、詞匯拓展、課文 A、課文 B、課文 C、閱讀技能拓展、課文復述和寓教于樂。每篇課文后均設相關練習，并在單元后附加參考答案。本教材適合應用技能型人才培養(yǎng)需要，可作為英語專業(yè)學生必修或選修課教材、非英語專業(yè)的“后續(xù)拓展課程教材”、面向各專業(yè)開設的通識教育課程教材及英語學習者了解中西方文化的自學材料。
本教材由長期從事中國文化研究、對外漢語教學和具有豐富“外語教學經(jīng)驗”的教師共同編寫，涉及美國、英國、澳大利亞、加拿大和新西蘭等多個國家有關社會文化、文學與跨文化交際等方面的知識，體現(xiàn)了語言和知識融合的CBI教育理念，注重培養(yǎng)和提高學生的文化修養(yǎng)以及跨文化交際能力。同時，本教材配備大量的網(wǎng)絡資源，學生可以根據(jù)自己興趣，對相關領域進行研究和深入學習。本教材具有以下特色：
1. 突出中西文化與語言知識相結合的編寫理念本教材主要突出中西文化對比特色，從多個視角重點闡述中西文化的差異和各自特點，揚長補短，促進中西文化的有效交流。大量有關文化的詞匯和主題篇章有利于學生在學習英語知識的同時，接受文化的熏陶。
2. 注重對學生思辨能力和應用能力的全面培養(yǎng)
本教材通過生動有趣、通俗易懂的課后練習，將課文知識與情景相結合，并配有中西文化個體案例，從而幫助學生動態(tài)、全面地了解中西方文化，激發(fā)學生用英語表述中國文化的興趣，培養(yǎng)學生獨立思考和語言綜合應用的能力。
3. 采用同慕課和微課相結合的自主學習模式
本教材采用線上慕課課程與線下英語教材同步學習的方式，全方位提高學生學習英語的興趣，促進學生英語視聽說能力的提高。本教材大膽采用與網(wǎng)絡教學相結合的翻轉課堂和微課教學模式，突出 “做中學，學中做”的理念，符合學校當前的轉型發(fā)展需求，能夠提高學生的英語應用能力。
